TAVA Business Meeting & Workshop: Developing a Standard of Inclusivity: From Policy to Community

  • Thursday, April 12, 2018
  • 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  • The Yonge Street Mission (Classroom B)

Lisa Robinson (Program Developer, Placement Support at Volunteer Toronto) will provide participants with a strong understanding of Diversity and Inclusivity Policies and how to build them for their non-profit organizations and volunteer programs.

Lisa's approach includes understanding the policy as a living document that evolves with the organization, its needs, and its stakeholders (including volunteers).

Participants will learn the key components of a Diversity and Inclusivity Policy and how to establish or update one for their organizations or programs. As well, they will learn how a great Diversity and Inclusivity Policy addresses barriers to volunteering.

Headshot of Lisa RobinsonLisa is a recent MSW graduate of the University of Toronto, specializing in Non-profit Management and Leadership, who has extensive experience in engaging marginalized communities in research and programming. As a previous non-profit volunteer manager and volunteer herself, she has experienced the benefits and challenges that accompany the volunteer experience.
