The Mindful Leader: Making the Shift from Reactive to Responsive One Moment at a Time
Learning Outcome 1:To understand the evidence-based concept of mindful leadership, including qualities associated with it, impact/benefits and a framework for thinking about it beyond the workshop and in the context of volunteer duties.
Learning Outcome 2:To explore two key qualities of mindful leadership through definition, discussion and real-time practice (along with practical tools for carrying the learning forward into their volunteer workplace).
Learning Outcome 3:To develop an appreciation for how each participant is already demonstrating mindful leadership qualities in their volunteer engagement capacity, which they can build on with intention and practice.
Maggie DiStasi, ACPC, PCC, RCC™
Career and Leadership Coach
Faculty, Business Coaching Advantage Program™
As a professional certified coach, Maggie helps people grow their confidence to know what to do next, and start taking action.
A decade ago, it became clear to Maggie that she is process-oriented by nature. She naturally gravitates towards a perspective of life that focuses on how we show up in each moment, and the quality of the experience we want to create for ourselves. She’s driven to explore that perspective and develop the practices associated with being this way in work and life, knowing and trusting this can lead to our best future outcomes.
Maggie now shares what she’s learned through her personal practice and training in coaching and mindfulness. She offers career transition and leadership development coaching and serves on the faculty of the Business Coaching Advantage Program™. She loves working with people who are finding and using their own voice, are willing to work on themselves, and want to “do good” in the world.
Maggie has been a keynote speaker and presents on the topic of career transition and mindful leadership within organizations across Toronto. She is also a mentor and facilitator for Scala Network’s “Take the Lead” leadership development program. Maggie is a long-time member of Toastmasters and has served as Past President and Area Director in her division.
Before making the decision to become a professional coach, Maggie built a successful career in financial technology management in downtown Toronto.
